Our first event was a golf tournament in September 2005, just 7 months after David was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer.
The event exceeded our expectations. The outpouring of support and generosity was overwhelming and inspiring as well. While this event has become our premier annual fundraiser, we have expanded to other annual events including an annual disc golf tournament and an Evening at the Greenhouse event that is hosted with our friends at Suburban Lawn & Garden. In just 15 years, through our partnership with the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), and their generous matching program, FLHW has raised more than $1M for prostate cancer research. Additionally, we have raised awareness in our community for the importance of early detection in the battle against prostate cancer. Last, but certainly not least, we have inspired, supported and most importantly, given Hope to the men and their families that battle this dreadful disease each day.

The mission of this foundation is to win the battle against advanced prostate cancer. The approach to win this battle will be achieved by leveraging the resources, including financial, emotional and intellectual, within our families, friends, neighbors and communities.
The objectives targeted to complete our mission include: 1. Provide funding for research targeted for improved treatment and a cure for metastatic Prostate Cancer, 2. Increase awareness of the importance of early detection to promote survivability and to provide education about the disease.

Through our partnership with the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and their annual Dollar for Dollar Matching Program, we have contributed over $1,000,000 for medical research dedicated to improved treatments and a cure. The trend is moving in the right direction. Let’s keep the momentum growing!
